LONDON, 15 September 2026: Artio, the specialist carbon insurance provider, today announces it has enabled over $200 million into carbon projects, including a recent $30 million carbon credit pre-purchase by a US listed entity.

The milestone transaction further highlights the desire for, and impact that, Artio’s insurance infrastructure can enable, supporting larger and more sophisticated investments in carbon projects.

Rapid expansion as market demand grows

By protecting buyers and investors against clearly defined project and delivery risks, Artio’s insurance products can help developers secure capital, strengthen the investability of future carbon credits and give market participants greater confidence to enter long-term agreements, which has fueled its rapid expansion as the market grows.

Following a strong first year of underwriting and execution, Artio has renewed and expanded its relationships with Tokio Marine GX, Markel, and Apollo with increased capacity lines.

The company has further strengthened its underwriting panel by adding OAK Global as a new capacity partner. OAK Global’s extensive underwriting expertise within the climate resilience and technology space through its strategic business unit, OAK Horizon, is highly complementary to Artio’s mission to de-risk the carbon credit market.

Together, the expanded panel gives Artio the capacity and expertise to support growing demand from insurance brokers, global traders, carbon funds, investors and project developers.

Bilal Hussain, Co-Founder & CEO said:
