    Bilal Hussain

    Co-Founder & CEO

    Bilal has deep experience in creating data driven risk models specialising in ESG and voluntary carbon market covering 300+ projects.

    Prior to Artio he led the quantitive framework development as a Ratings Quant Lead at Sylvera & Technical Carbon Lead at Maya Climate after working as Senior ESG Data Analyst at Bloomberg.

    Ibrahim Sarwar

    Co-Founder & COO

    Ibrahim has seasoned expertise in valuing, critically assessing and building financial models for early stage global startups across the SaaS, data and climatech space.

    He developed his project finance & risk assessment expertise whilst qualifying as a chartered accountant at Deloitte and as an early stage employee of Fable Data.

    Lindene Patton

    NED, General Counsel

    With a strong history in leading and innovating in climate attribution liability, risk management, data & insurance product development Lindene has shaped the world of climate insurance over the course of her career.

    She has notably held the position of Chief Climate Product Officer at Zurich including time as a detailee at the World Economic Forum’s Low Carbon Finance Initiative.

    Jorge Veiras

    Data Scientist

    Jorge’s expertise in machine learning and geospatial analytics has delivered data-driven solutions in climate risk and carbon sequestration. He led impactful projects including seagrass mapping to inform environmental policies for the Canary Islands government.

    Prior to Artio, Jorge contributed to carbon research at the Spanish National Research Council, achieved a master’s in Environmental Data Science from Imperial College, and founded VibePulse, a SaaS for enhancing restaurant ambiance with computer vision.

    Sunneth Lawrence

    Senior Carbon Underwriter

    Sunneth has strong grounding in the insurance industry, focused on specialty and emerging insurance classes.

    Prior to Artio, she was an Associate Director at Aon, where she helped
    grow the IP liability insurance market in London, and placed complex insurance structures for IP Finance and Carbon transactions. Prior to IP she worked in Aon’s Capital Advisory team, structuring reinsurance solutions and advising insurers on capital optimisation and growth strategies.

  • Cristina Calatayud

    Project Assessments Lead

    Cristina has a proven track record of experience assessing the quality and integrity of carbon projects, combining engineering, ecology, remote sensing and data science. Prior to Artio, she was Lead of Solutions at Chloris Geospatial, and before that she led the team building Sylvera’s carbon project assessment frameworks. Earlier, at the University of Cambridge, she backed and advised climate tech spin-outs as an Investment Associate. She is a civil and environmental engineer, and holds an MSc in Ecology and Data Science from UCL.
